Hi all,
I am working with a 3D model of artery with atherosclerosis. I wish to conduct a fluid-structure interaction study. I have to model the plaque and plaque cap as a solid material.
I am importing a solid model and when I extract faces, the only options I get to assign is the wall and cap. Thus, assigning the entire domain as a fluid domain and can only add an uniform thickness to wall as a solid domain.
Is there a way to generate solid domain and provide hyperelastic material properties in SimVascular?
I have attached cross-section of the artery for your reference.

Currently, SimVascular only supports FSI with small deformation using the coupled momentum method (http://www.sciencedirect.com/science/ar ... 250500513X). The vessel wall is modeled as a linear elastic membrane, so only fluid domain has 3D mesh.
For your case, a meshe need to be generated for each domain. In future, SimVascular may provide a new solver for this type of cases.
