svpre does not work

Post by Dai Xiao Dai » Mon Oct 15, 2018 6:32 am

Dear developer,
When I click the 'Create Data Files for Simulation' button, it shows svpre does not work and fails to creat files. I try to read the Details, but there is nothing.
Could you tell me what's wrong with it? What should I do?
Thank you very much and may you a sweet day. ^^

Hi Dai,

Thank you for your question! It is a little hard to diagnose without some more details. Can you confirm that your model was properly meshed and all surfaces were assigned boundary conditions?

Hi Justin,

I think its a mesh problem. I create another mesh and it works. So I wonder how to check the mesh before I start the solution. Could you tell me what kind of mesh satisfies the conditions of svpre?

Thank you very much and may you a sweet day. ^ v ^

Dai

Hi Dai,

One way you can check your mesh is right-clicking the mesh from the Data Manager and clicking the option to "Export Mesh-complete". This will produce a folder that has your mesh information that you can check in Paraview. The "mesh-complete.mesh.vtu" contains your tetrahedral volumetric mesh, and the "mesh-surfaces" folder contains .vtp files for each of the different cap and wall surfaces of your model. You can check those to confirm that all the surfaces exist and the volumetric mesh has the appropriate number of elements.

Hope that helps! Keep us updated.

Hi Justin,

After created 8 different meshes, I finally found that it only failed when I created mesh with boundary layer.
Compared with the job with a common mesh, geombc.dat.1, restart.0.1 missed.
When I chose Convert Boundary Layer to New Region/Domain, bct.dat was even 0 KB and bct.vtp disappeared.

What's wrong with it?

Thank you very much and may you a sweet day. -V-

Yours,
Dai
