Simulation Not Running

Post by Diwas Gautam » Thu Oct 26, 2017 6:31 pm

I am running the latest version of the SimVascular on my linux mint and I have also downloaded sVsolver. When I run the simulation the status bar keeps staying at 0% even after a long time and when I try to stop the simulation, it does not stop.

Hi Diwas,

Thanks for the question. Are you running the simulation with a single processor or multiple ones? Do any files get output to the Simulations folder?

Hi Justin, I am running the simulation with a single processor and yes there are few files on the simulation which you can see on the attachment.

Ok these files seem to have been created before I hit the "run simulation" so I don't think they would qualify as output files. And if you mean the "number of processes" in the simulation tab by processors then in that case I am using the maximum available (4)

Hi Diwas,

Just to make sure, you have downloaded and installed the separate solver package?

Thanks!

Yeah I have downloaded and installed svsolver 2017. I have tried running the simulation on different number of processors ranging from 1 to 4 and it is not working. I cannot even stop the simulation once it has started but everything else is working on the application fine.

On the same device, I have WIndows 10 installed and simulation runs fine on it. But I have other problems with running Simvascular on WIndows. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having this exact issue but on a Windows computer. Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Susannah,

This is an old thread so I would like to understand what exactly the problem you are having is. Is SimVascualar working OK but svSolver is not? Are running one of the tutorials?

Cheers,
Dave

Thank you for reaching out.

During the simulation step, under "Create Files and Run Simulation", when I click the "Create Data Files for Simulation" button, I get a prompt that reads,

"Data files have been created

INE 0000: mesh_and_adjncy_vtu mesh-complete/mesh-complete.mesh.vtu

LINE 0001: set_surface_id_vtp mesh-complete/mesh-complete.exterior.vtp
LINE 0002: set_surface_id_vtp mesh-complete/mesh-surfaces/cap_contour g

error parsing num!
ERROR: command could not be processed."

I'm unsure what this error is referring to. If I try to continue on with running the simulation, it sits at 0% progress indefinitely. I've tried this with multiple datasets of my own.

Best,
Susannah
