model of skin

Post by Francesco Graziani » Mon Sep 23, 2019 2:30 am

Hi, is it possible to create a model of skin using Sim Vascular? I need to know this for my Master's thesis.
Thank you for information.
Best regards.

Hi Francesco,

SimVascular was designed for created models of tubular structures (e.g. blood vessels). If you wanted to create models of the blood vessels in the skin then I think it could do that, given a high quality image volume.

Cheers,
Dave

If you're looking to construct a purely tissue mechanics model, I'd probably recommend you have a look at FEBio, which is another open source software for biomechanics applications.
