Simulation Guide:Presolver

Post by Chyna Mays » Fri Feb 14, 2020 3:48 pm

I am currently working on the simulation guide, and I attempted to create data files for simulation; however, a presolver doesn't exist on my laptop. How do I create or download a presolver, so I can proceed with the simulation?

Hi Chyna,

The solver used in the SV Simulation tool is called svSolver and it needs to be manually installed. You can download the svSolver installer from SimTK here https://simtk.org/frs/?group_id=188. After you install it you should be able to run it OK. You will probably want to install MPI, see http://simvascular.github.io/docsFlowSolver.html and search for To install MPI:.

I looked at the SV documentation and see that it does not mention that you need to install svSolver or incorrectly states that it is included with SV. I have opened a GitHub Issue on that https://github.com/SimVascular/simvascu ... /issues/33.

Cheers,
Dave

I downloaded the necessary components. I was able to run a simulation using the example cylinder project, but for the aorta project I am unable to do so. I was able to successfully create files, but I receive these errors when I run the simulation.

Hi Chyna,

It seems that no restart.0.1 file was created for your simulation. Can you post here the list the files in the project's Simulations/demo directory?

Cheers,
Dave

I have attached images of the files in the simulation folder.

Hi Chyna,

You are missing restart.0.1 and geombc.dat.1 files. When you select the Create Data Files for Simulation button select the Show Details button from the popup and post what is shown there.

Cheers,
Dave
