0208_H_CERE_CA : Time steps in the Results file

Post by ALEXANDRE COSTA » Tue Nov 19, 2024 5:08 am

Hello,
Can anybody clarify the value of the time steps reported in the result file for the
0208_H_CERE_CA (vascular repository)?
Any help would be very welcome. I am attaching some screenshoots .
Best

Hi Alexandre,
the number after the result file indicates the step number of the simulation where the results are saved/evaluated.
E.g., the pressure_63500 is the solution file evaluated at the 63500th step that contains pressure values.

The time related to the step number only depends on the discretization step time i've chosen to your simulation.
Suppose you've choose a dt=0.001 [s]: here, pressure_63500 corresponds to pressure evaluated at 63500*dt=63500/0.001 [s]=63.5[s].

Hope i was clear enough.

Have a nice day.

Hi Alexandre,

The previous post addresses the initial question about result file naming really well. If you have other questions about how files are named or the units that are typically considered for many VMR simulations I wanted to link the solver documentation here: https://simvascular.github.io/documenta ... olver.html

This might be a good resource when evaluating other components of the result files.

Best,
