Stent graft material property

Post by Nishanth Surianarayanan » Thu Jan 09, 2020 5:20 pm

Hello Developers,

I want to import a stent into an abdominal aortic aneurysm as shown. Is it possible to define different wall properties for the stent and the aneurysm wall on SimVascular?

Also, can you guide me on how to assemble a stent properly in the aneurysm model? My aneurysm model is irregular and asymmetric as shown below. Is it possible to assemble in SimVascular?

If the wall faces for the stent and aneurysm are separated, you can directly assign different wall properties in the pre solver script.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. But the stent and wall do touch proximal and distal of the aneurysm as shown. So we cannot assign different material properties?

Thanks,
Nishanth

Hi Nishanth,

The stent and vessel materials can be assigned based on their meshes, there is an elastic modulus and wall thickness for each element.

Cheers,
Dave
