Coronary branch inlet flow

Hi developers:

Thank you so much for developing this great simulation software! I am currently learning the coronary artery Project:http://simvascular.github.io/clinicalCase3.html#sim.

For the model of the entire coronary artery, I reproduced it step by step according to the process of the project. The simulation result looks correct in ParaView.

Then, I took one of the branches (rc1_sub1) for simulation alone. Considering that the branch inlet flow is much smaller than the coronary trunk flow, I scaled the flow of scaled_pulse_flow.flow

However, from the simulation results of ParaView, the scale value of color_map is not correct.

So my confusion is how to generate or define the inlet flow value of a coronary branch?

Attached are the visualization results of the simulation models.

Looking forward to your answer!

Best regards
Kemin

Hi Kemin,

Could you please let me know:
  • what percentage of the inflow did you use for RCA branch?
  • what boundary conditions did you use? coronary or resistance? If coronary, what values did you assigned?

Hi Muhammad,

Thanks for your reply!

I reduced the flow value at every moment in scaled_pulse_flow to about 2%, and the Analytic Shape was parabolic, Point Number = 201,
Fourier Modes = 10 .

For the outlet BC, BC type was Coronary, Ra = 11943.4, Ca = 2.75e-06, Ra-micro = 19408, Cim = 2.225e-05, Rv = 5971.68. Using the plv.dat as Pim inpu,Pim Scaling = 1.

Attachment is the scaled Flow file.

Thx
