Simulation on a coronary artery model

Post by mengzhe lyu » Fri Feb 18, 2022 3:20 am

Hi there,

I am trying to run a simulation on the coronary model as attached. But always failed in generate mesh, can someone have a look at model attached and let me know is that possible to run a steady-states simulation on this model.

Hi Mengzhe,

I had a look at your model.

You will need to create flat faces at vessel ends to make your model suitable for SV. You should also truncate vessels that become too small. You might also want to smooth the geometry a bit to remove any local features that may cause meshing problems.

Cheers,
Dave

Thank you very much for your reply, i will edit the model as suggested.

I am using MAC for the simulations and not very sure how to use MPI for simulation. I have downloaded homebrew and installed MPI but they are under /opt folder, when i try to find the location of MPI in simvascular i should not find opt folder in the search pannel as shown in the image attached. Do you how can i find the location of MPI in that search bar.

Cheers,
Jamie

Hi Jamie,

You can set the MPI location from the SV Preferences panel. Select the simvascular/Preferences menu item from the Mac toolbar

an then select the MPI option
