RCR boundary condition

Hi, I'm SimVascular user.

Curious about RCR conditions, I looked at the references provided by SV homepage. literature was https://doi.org/10.1115/1.4038751, and I would like to use the following equation from it (attached file)

But I wonder how this formula came about. In particular, I don't know why the capacitance is calculated like that.

The rules for distributing resistance are based on the assumption that flow is proportional to A^alpha. When alpha equals 1, the outflow is proportional to the outlet area. Similarly, the capacitance is proportional to the outlet area. The total capacitance is the sum of each outlet's capacitance when they are arranged in parallel.
