Hi Everyone,
I am using SimVascular 2.10320 on a mac.
I would like to create a tetrahedralization (with Tetgen) of a PolyData model. The model consists of the aorta with two branching vessels, and at the bifurcation my poly-data model is quite "bumpy" so I would like to smooth it with SimVascular before meshing.
Is there a way to smooth only the branching region? All my attempts so far have also smoothed the caps of the model (inflow and outflow caps).
Best,
Kathrin

Re: smoothing PolyData solid model before meshing
Hi Kathrin,
We are actually currently developing methods to smooth only a selected portion of a model and future releases should have this ability. (So stay updated for that!)
For now, what you can do is use a process of:
1. Deleting Inlets and Outlets
2. Smoothing Vessel
3. Filling holes with Ids.
In the PolyData tab, go to the Face Selection Tab. Use the button "Select and Delete Faces" to delete the inlets and outlets. Then go to the Smooth tab and "Smooth" your model. Then update your solid and go back to the Face Selection Tab. Here, you can now, "Fill Holes With Ids" to give yourself inlets and outlets again that you can name.
If any of this doesn't make sense, please let me know.
Thanks!
