Example models

Hi,

are there any additional example models (in standardised formats such as .vtp, .stl, .obj etc.) to use in SimVascular? I could find three in the examples, in addition to some others which I don't know how to import in SimVascular or convert to .vtp: http://simvascular.github.io/clinicalCase1.html

Best regards,
Rok

Hi Rok,

You've used the one in the quick guide already? What is the purpose of finding more models to import? Is it not working for you and you would like to test more?

You should be able to find many .stl and .vtp models online.

Thanks!

Hi,

I'm using SimVascular for an academic project and would like to evaluate as many examples as possible. We do have some volumetric voxel scans but they all require quite a bit of processing to get them to acceptable quality. So I was wondering if there were any additional vascular meshes available for SimVascular or if there is any good public repository of processed models such as the ones used in SimVascular meshing/simulation examples.

I did check all the provided examples and clinical studies and they are great but I was wondering if there are any additional (clean) models.

Thanks and best regards,
Rok

Hi Rok,

The case http://simvascular.github.io/clinicalCase1.html is in SimVascular legacy format and the model is a Parasoldi model(.xmt_txt). The latest SimVascular supports importing files in legacy formats.

You can create a new project and import paths and groups in legacy formats, and then create a polydata model.
For this case:
import paths from the file: OSMSC0110-aorta/models/0110_0001-cm.paths
http://simvascular.github.io/docsModelG ... rtingPaths

import contour groups from the folder: OSMSC0110-aorta/models/0110_0001_groups-cm
http://simvascular.github.io/docsModelG ... tingGroups

You can find more cases in http://www.vascularmodel.com, and they are in legacy format.

Thanks,

Hi,

thanks for these links, I was now able to import the segmentations and paths to export the .vtp model for further use.
The cases on vascularmodel.com are unfortunately not free, but for now these example models will suffice.

Thanks again and best regards,
Rok
