Deformable Walls Initial Pressure

Post by Lina Gundelwein » Wed Jul 26, 2017 11:02 am

Hi,

I am working on a simulation with a periodic inflow wave. After running the rigid case, I want to run the deformable simulation. How do I estimate the initial pressure for the deformable walls from the rigid simulation?
From the example 3, I can see that you took the maximum pressure of the rigid simulation with static inflow.
For the case of periodic inflow, is it the maximum average pressure or is it the maximum pressure at the last time step of the rigid simulation?

Best regards,
Lina

Hi Lina,

If you are simulating with pulsatile flow, you can use median pressure as the initial pressure for the deformable walls. The pressure is only used for calculating initial displacement of the walls, so, just make surethe pressure value is within the physiological range.

Thanks,
