Dear Authors,

I have a question on the user registration method.

On page 4 you write:
We then used the OpenSim Scale Tool to complete the marker registration procedure as follows. The model was posed to approximate the robots configuration in the static trial by minimizing the least-squares error between model and experimental markers. [...] Each model marker was then repositioned to match the location of the corresponding experimental marker, rendering the total marker error zero relative to the static trial. We refer to this method as user registration.
As I understand it, you approximate the model to the static trial, and then users position the model marker based on the photos of the static trial. So you did not preview the experimental data of the static trial and placed the model marker where the displayed experimental marker is?

And I guess you did not use the OpenSim scale tool marker placement in the user registration method, did you?

Thanks for your help!

Kind regards
Philippe Wesberg

Hi there

First: thanks for sharing all your work and data! Its nice to be able to work with the OpenSim community :-)

I would like to note one more thing: I tried the walking_tiral.trc (opened model, load IK settings XML)
Unfortunately there is an error, because the marker names in the model and the walking_trial.trc are not identical. I.e. there is RKJC model marker, which is not in the TRC (there is RLKJC or RMKJC and others quite similar, but it is not obvious to me which is which.)
Maybe you could fix that and update the files?

kind regards,
Philippe
