Pelvis_List

Hi, I'm analyzing hip drop in the frontal plane during single leg landing & was wondering if "pelvis_list" under kinematic data is that ? Also I was wondering if the unit's used are in degrees of motion

Hi David,

Pelvis list is the rotation of the pelvis around the x axis (forward direction). If you need to visualize, you can load the model in OpenSim, you can click the coordinate tab and slide the pelvis list slider back and forth to see.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Thank you for the clarification ! Would you know if any of the kinematic measures directly assesses hip drop in the frontal plane ? Or would this be something I'd have to check on Open Sim ??

Thanks,
David

Hi David,

How do you want to define hip drop? For example, if its relative motion of the pelvis to the spine, lumbar bending is what you want to look at.

Hope this helps,
Matt

Hi Matt, I'll be defining hip drop as asymmetry of the pelvis in the frontal plane relative to the position of the pelvis upon landing. Hope this diagram illustrates it better.
