Provide a comprehensive data set with associated models that will enable researchers to validate musculoskeletal model estimates of muscle and joint contact forces in the knee.

6th competition scaling

Post by Ferdinand Lauren Carpena » Wed Dec 21, 2022 10:37 pm

Hi. I am quite new to OpenSim and I am trying to use the GCC dataset to approximate knee loads. I have encountered a problem with the video motion data from static trials and other trials for both raw and synchronized data.

I initially used the Gait2392 as the generic model. I imported the scale markers from this model for scaling. I used the video motion data (DM_staticfor1.TRC) as the experimental markers through the scale model tool (imported on scale model and adjust model markers). Scale factors were assigned and preview was checked. The result was a highly irregular model. Upon exploring further, I used the preview experimental data and loaded the same video motion data(raw static trial). This confirmed that the markers are not on their right places as seen from the image. The highlighted marker in yellow is labeled as the right knee medial marker. I also tried to preview the other trial video motion data as well as the synchronized data, but they have the same arrangement.

Is there something wrong with my procedure or am I missing a step? I am using OpenSim 4.4 and generic TRC files seems to work fine. Thank you in advance.
