Hello,

has anyone thought of using simbody as dynamics simulator for robotic applications. The toolkit offers the basic "joints" commonly used in robot modelling.

Thank you,

Hi, Jordi.

Simbody is based on technology originally developed for robotics (recursive multibody formulation similar to Featherstone's) so should be very well suited to robotics simulation. Robotics simulation tends to be simpler than the biomechanics applications for which Simbody is targeted -- fewer bodies, simpler joints, tree structured, and with simpler contacts.

Sherm

P.S. No capital "B" in Simbody.
