Joint origin OKS002

Overall purposes of the project are:

1) To provide free access to a three-dimensional finite element representation of the knee joint

2) Open development of a knee model for collaborative testing and use

Joint origin OKS002

Post by Janne Spierings » Thu Apr 06, 2023 7:40 am

Hi,

I have been successfully simulating gait cycles in FEBio with the open knee models, however, I ran into some problems using OKS002. I believe this is coming from the center of mass of the PFFO rigid body being wrongfully assigned. I'm using the values already in the .feb file after downloading from this website (18.69,24.12,-2.846). However, these coordinates seem to be too far anterior (towards the patellar), taking into account mechanics of the knee joint but also looking at other OKS models.

Are more people running into these problems or have I missed an update to the model by any chance?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Janne,

Please see updated models here, https://simtk.org/plugins/datashare/?group_id=485 (OKS_models) and related details here, https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/36104640/

Thanks,
Snehal
