Survey Data Analysis

Post by Lealem Mulugeta » Mon Oct 27, 2014 3:23 pm

This forum discussion is intended to help the CPMS Data Analysis Group and the rest of the Committee to iron out the details of how the Ten Simple Rules survey will be analyzed to appropriately interpret the results to establish the "Guidelines for Credible Practice of Modeling & Simulation in Healthcare". The kinds of questions we need to tackle include, but not limited to:

1. How do we delineate thoughtful responses versus those that were done not so thoughtfully?
2. How do we deal with partially completed surveys?
3. Do we need to weight responses based areas and level of expertise of the responders? If so, how do we do this?
4. If there are any strong bias inputs (e.g. very large responses from one discipline), how do we account for this bias?
5. Should we consider the “Comments” provided by the responders as part of our data analysis? If so, how?

Although this forum discussion is primarily intended for the Data Analysis Group and the rest of the Committee to discuss issues regarding the analysis of the survey results, we do not prohibit other interested parties from providing input to this discussion.
