Dear OpenSim community,
I'm a new OpenSim user and have a question regarding the .xml file used for the Inverse Kinematics tool. I want to do a normal walking calculation with the model Gait2392_Simbody. When adjusting the file subject_setup_IK.xml for my subject I don't understand how I can get the .mot file I need (in the default file it is called subject01_walk1.mot in the very end of the file).
I used Lee-Son's toolbox to receive the .trc and .mot files from the from the VICON output .csv file, but it only gives me the GRF .mot file and not the one containing coordinate observations.
Can anybody help me here?
Thank you!
Ursula
.mot file in subject_setup_IK.xml
Re: .mot file in subject_setup_IK.xml
Hi Ursula,
The coordinate file contains joint angles that you may have collected or calculated externally from OpenSim. An example would be if you have goniometer data from the knee that you would like to input (along with marker trajectories) into the IK analysis. if you dont have coordinate data you can leave the tag empty or delete the tag entirely.
I havent used the toolbox you mentioned, but it may output marker trajectories (.trc) and GRF's (.mot) only. You can always ask questions specific to the toolbox on their project page forum "https://simtk.org/forums/viewforum.php?f=670"
cheers,
