IK and NaN values in trc files

Post by Alice Mantoan » Tue Apr 01, 2014 1:13 am

Hi everyone,

I have a very quick question.

I remember that a few time ago, NaN values in .trc files were a problem for OpenSim (am I wrong?).
However, recently I heard that they are now "desirable" for the IK tool, as they make markers automatically not considered for the corresponding frames during the IK process. I would like to understand if this is true or not, because I expect it can be an important feature for the batch processing of multiple trials.

Thank a lot.

Regards,

Alice

Hi Alice,

NaN values can be used in the trc file for missing values. Marker frames with NaN values are excluded from the minimization.

hope that helps,

Hi James,

thanks a lot!!That's what I hoped to hear.
Perhaps I was wrong a couple of years ago.

Thanks again.
