Maximum contraction velocity

Hello all,

Could someone explain how the maximum contraction velocity is chosen for a particular muscle in OpenSim? I have two different models I am using of the upper extremity. One has the maximum contraction velocity of the triceps long set to 10 while the other has it set to 0.

Any help with this would be appreciated.
