Updating Muscles in Model

Post by Darius Nahavandi » Mon Jun 29, 2015 10:48 pm

Hi, the model I am currently using in OpenSim is a full body model, however some muscles refer to the "Schutte1993Muscle_Deprecated" and others "Thelen2003Muscle". I am wondering weather it is possible to update muscles within the model to the latest reference, and if so how do I go about doing this?

Thank you

Regards
Darius

Hello!

I have not tried updating the model I am working on from Shutte1993Muscle_Deprecated muscles yet, but according to a webinar found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q1rId1fOkjw I believe it is as simple as typing in the name of the type of muscle you want in for the old one. Generally the parameters set for a certain muscle model needs to be defined for each type of muscle, which is why you should be able to just replace the muscle model.
