Differing Results Male/Female

Post by Darius Nahavandi » Mon Aug 03, 2015 11:06 pm

Hi, i am currently analysing the forces between different muscle groups during a Round house Kick (Kick Boxing Sport). This analysis however consists of male and female subjects doing exactly the same motion at an identical speed. The issue i am facing is that my results from females is significantly higher than males. The Quadratus Femoris muscle displays the highest difference.

I am wondering whether there is a difference between male and female data when put through the OpenSim Model.
Is the model based on a Male?
Is the Data reliable for both males and females?

And if not, what would the correct scaling procedure be to have males and females within the same ranges?

Thanks
Darius
