I am a freshman about opensim, recently I want to put a Total knee-joint prostheses into the opensim, but I do not how to realize this goal.Although there are many papers for Total knee-joint prostheses simulation,no details of the operation process,Or is there any examples?I want to further study.
Looking forward to replying, Thanks!

You could try searching for knee-related projects on simtk.org—some of these will contain OpenSim models you can download. There are also three tutorials and several examples on the "Examples and Tutorials" page in the documentation: http://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu:80 ... +Tutorials. The tutorials introduce basic OpenSim functionality and might be a good place to start.recently I want to put a Total knee-joint prostheses into the opensim, but I do not how to realize this goal.

thanks for your replay
It was not working with the examples which already browsed many times, and about the Total knee-joint prostheses models can't be downloaded.maybe solve this problem need to add a body and edit its property?

Which body would you add and what properties would you edit? The best strategy for modeling the prosthesis depends on your research question. What specifically are you trying to study? It was not working with the examples which already browsed many times, and about the Total knee-joint prostheses models can't be downloaded.maybe solve this problem need to add a body and edit its property?

thanks for your replay again
I want to creat a Model with Total knee-joint prostheses to evaluate the mechanical environment of the knee ,but I do not know how to achieve it detailedly expecially prosthese.

You might be interested in the work of Lerner et al. (2015), who looked at tibiofemoral contact forces. Their OpenSim model can be downloaded at https://simtk.org/projects/med-lat-knee.

Thanks for your replay, the model with prosthesis is very important for my study .I have another questions need your help
1. Using the prosthesis geometry file to replace the model's geometry file is reasonable?
2.The contract set with other software can be read in the opensim?
looking forward your replay![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Re: problems about the location of Total knee-joint prostheses in the model
That approach may be reasonable, depending on the model you're using. The model shown in Lerner et al. (2015), Fig 1, appears to be parameterized by two angles (theta1, theta2) and two distances (d1, d2).1. Using the prosthesis geometry file to replace the model's geometry file is reasonable?
Contact can be modeled in OpenSim in a few ways, including the following:2.The contract set with other software can be read in the opensim?
- Kinematic joints and constraints.
- External forces (e.g., from experimental measurements).
- Elastic foundation contact model (https://simtk.org/api_docs/opensim/api_ ... ml#details).
- Hunt-Crossley contact model (https://simtk.org/api_docs/opensim/api_ ... ml#details). Also see the Simbody Theory Manual (https://github.com/simbody/simbody/tree ... imbody/doc), Section 11.2.
