Joint Reaction Analysis and Force Reporter: definition of constraints forces

Post by Dario Cazzola » Sat Nov 11, 2017 8:03 am

Hi Guys,

Just a quick (hopefully) check on what kind of constraint forces are outputted by Force Reporter and how they related to the ones used for the calculation of Joint Reaction Analysis.

Knowing that the joint reaction are calculated as:

How are the constraint forces used for the calculation of the Joint Reaction analysis related to the 'con_mobility_F' forces outputted by the Force reporter?

My understanding is that the constraint forces in the JRA are calculated only if a specific joint has a coordinate constraint or coordinate limit, otherwise that values would be equal to zero or showing effect of gravity and velocity dependent forces. For example for a joint with 3 rotational dof, JRA will have only translation joint reaction forces.

So..are these forces outputted by the Force Reporter too?

Many thanks.

Dario
