Opensim with Neuromuscular conditions

Post by matt hand » Sun Mar 24, 2019 3:17 pm

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any experience using Opensim to for computing muscle and joint reaction forces in neuromuscular populations e.g multiple sclerosis, Parkinsons, Cerebral palsy, ect.?

We have expressed some concern that spasticity and the altered nerve conduction will ruin the estimations.

Hi Matt,

Have a look at this recent article by Falisse et al. (2018) - https://journals.plos.org/plosone/artic ... ne.0208811 . I believe they incorporated a model of spasticity within their simulation framework.

Kind regards,
