CMC activation hitting max for gait2354 during walking
I'm running CMC with the gait2354 model using the kinematics, ground reaction force, CMC Task, CMC constraint, and CMC Actuators files provided with the model. However, when CMC completes, the gluteus medius, the medial gastroc, and the tibialis anterior are all nearing full activation at several instances. Their activation patterns look similar to real EMG, but these muscles don't get near their maximum activation during normal gait, so am I doing something wrong?

It comes down to a set of modeling choices around the capacity of those muscles to produce the required force. So, depending on what you are trying to achieve, you could do some combination of the following;
- Increase the strength of the muscles to better represent your subject.
- Observe where on the Force-Length-Velocity curve the muscle is operating on-- perhaps it is on a poor part of the curve.
- Add control constraints that force the muscle activations to be bound. You can use your EMG signals to determine the constraints.
