Expression Based Bushing Forces

Post by Aaron Fox » Fri Aug 02, 2019 8:37 pm

Hi All,

I've been experimenting with the expression based bushing force class to apply a torque based upon the rotations between two bodies. I'm interested in whether this class can be used to apply a torque about an axis (e.g. Y) based on the rotation about another axis (e.g. X). I figure this could be achieved by including the reference to the rotation (i.e. theta_y) in the Mx_expression, however a quick test of this didn't seem to work. I believe some of the other force classes (e.g. coordinate limit and expression based coordinate forces) are limited to a single coordinate application.

Does anyone know if expression based bushing forces can work in this way? Or is there another force class that might be suitable for this function?

Thanks,

Aaron

Upon some further experimentation it appears that you can include reference to another axes coordinate value in the expression for another axis - so the expression based bushing force looks like it will meet these needs.
