Typically the definitions are:
"f_iso" is the maximum isometric force of the contractile element (CE) [parameter value]
"f_AL" is the active CE force-length relationship function
"f_PL" is the passive CE force-length relationship function
"f_v" is the CE force-velocity relationship function
"f_SE" is the force-extension relationship of the series elastic element (SE)
Given the CE length, activation, and velocity, you could calculate the values of all of these functions and determine the muscle force.
