Visualizing both Virtual and Experimental Markers in the IK GUI

Post by Sergiu Iliev » Mon Feb 03, 2020 4:58 pm

Hi all,

I was wondering if there is a way to visualize both experimental and virtual markers when reviewing IK results in the GUI? I think it would be a very useful feature.

Currently I am using Preview Experimental Data to see if there are any obvious issues with the data, but it would be great to see frame by frame in the IK results how individual virtual markers vary from their experimental position.

I remember seeing this in an example that showed this in an OpenSim video tutorial from a webminar last year, yet I cannot find it anymore and there is no mention of this in the documentation or the forums that I can find.

All the best,
Sergiu

Hi Sergiu,

After you open the IK results, right click on the "IKResults". Then click on "Associate Motion Data" and load the experimental marker trajectory file. Once you play the motion, you will see both virtual and experimental markers together.

Best,
