Hi all
I'm working on a project about a leg extension. I would ask you what is the best model to use for it (SepLegsNormal/Both Legs with muscles or 3DGait Model)? And also, what are the difference between two model (SepLegs and 3DGait), I see that the muscles parameters are very different (i.e. max isometric_force) but I don't understand about it.
Any suggestions?

The models used by the tutorials (SepLegs, BothLegs, Wrist) are primarily for educational use. I'm not sure which model you're referring to as 3DGait but the models gait2392_simbody, gait2354_simbody included in the distribution are much more realistic and better suited for doing research..You'll have to decide for yourself which model is good enough to answer your questions...

Sorry Ayman, I referred to 3DGait2392; in this model there are more muscles than in the other.
Just a clarification: during the scale tool, in "mass", do I insert the total mass subject or only a partial mass (in the model there is not arms) calculated i.e. by Dempster?

Hi, does anyone know what are the differences between 3DGait2392 model and 3dGait2354 model muscles parameters? In the first model there are more muscles than the second and I think that is the reason for the differences. But what is the better model for a simulation of a real movement? Thank you

Gait2354 lumps some of the muscle groups, such as hamstrings, as one musculo-tendon actuator. This model was created to allow for quicker simulation or analyses using muscles. However, it does simplify certain muscle actuator groups.
Which model you use really depends on the specific question you want to answer. Do you want to model a movement like walking or running in 3D? Here at NMBL we mostly use Gait2392 to simulate walking and running movements.
