How to insert an implant into a model

Post by Chengzheng Mao » Thu Mar 05, 2020 9:34 pm

Hi, all

I am new to the OpenSim, and I am trying to insert a hip implant into a Musculoskeletal Model to analyse the boundary conditions of the implant as well as the femur bone, such as muscle contact forces so that I can export the model into other software like Abaqus to simulate the stress on the bone and implant. Thus, I am confused that how I can insert the implant model which I have already established in CAD (maybe edit .xml file? or any guides?), so I can simulate it like standing and some gait situations?
So are there any materials or instructions I can read or follow?
If you have any information that can help me in this matter, I will appreciate it.
Thank you in advance.

William
