Scale Tool documentation

Post by Yunus Rezvanifar » Fri Jul 24, 2020 4:29 am

Hi
Reading Scale Tool doc. I didn't get this tip:
Scale Tool>>Getting Started with Scaling>>Evaluating your Results>>
"5. a.Again, avoid adjusting the positions of the landmark and FJC virtual markers to match the experimental markers."

1. As I realised, you change virtual markers positions and preview static pose till you get good RMS and Max error results. WHy you should not adjust the positions of the landmark and FJC virtual markers?

2. What are functional joint center markers? Can you name some of FJC virtual markers in Gait2354 model markerset?

Regards
Yunus.

Functional joint centers are described in the literature; see, for example, Piazza et al. (2001) Accuracy of the functional method of hip joint center location: effects of limited motion and varied implementation, https://doi.org/10.1016/S0021-9290(01)00052-5. In general, if you're adjusting model marker locations (or any model parameters for that matter), it should be the ones with the most uncertainty.
