Scale factor - uniformly or along XYZ axes

Post by Han Xiang Lim » Tue Oct 06, 2020 7:50 am

Hi, may I know will it be critical if I set the scale factors with XYZ axes based although the marker set I used don't have enough number of markers to define segment's XYZ dimensions? For example, when I scaling for tibia bone width, generally I need to select markers at lateral and medial side of knee, however I only able to define it as distance between lateral knee (KneeOut) and medial knee (ShinFrontHigh).

I noticed for an alternatively to set the scale factors uniformly which based on pair of markers for each of the body segments.

I tried to to generate the IK results with these two set of scale factors and compared, found minor changes on IK results (joint angles). May I get some advices on best practice method for scaling ?

*Attached are the reference for the way I define for scale factor and Qualisys PAF Running Package Marker Set that I used

Thank you =)
