simulating foot obstacle contact in opensim

Post by Mandar Pargaonkar » Tue Feb 02, 2021 1:40 pm

Hi!

I have gait analysis data, and I want to simulate trip in opensim. One of the way I can think of is to apply external point force on toe during certain time of swing phase. Or is there any other better way to do this? and how?

Please let me know.

Best,
Mandar

This sounds like a great way to start as adding a point force is easy to control and adjust as needed. More importantly, you should consider whether this approach is sufficient for your overall research question too.

You may want to also consider reading a paper about model verification and validation as you plan this study: https://nmbl.stanford.edu/publications/ ... ks2015.pdf
