Issues with Loading Motions

Post by Safiya Lambert » Mon Mar 08, 2021 9:17 am

Hello,

I have been following various tutorials and trying to open different models but the motions will not run correctly after I load them.
When I press the simulate button, the model just follows through the floor instead of walking.
How can I fix this?

Thanks,

Safiya

Hello,

Simulate and playback motion are two different functions. Simulate "the green running person" starts a forward simulation from the current state so it is very likely to show the model falling through the ground if not locked or no forces are included to hold it in place. Motion playback on the other hand does not perform any simulation, rather it plays back a recorded motion trajectory. This is controlled using the buttons under the motion slider at the top toolbar.

Hope this helps,
-Ayman

Thank you Ayman!
I got it to work.

Is it possible to use the motion files from Tutorial 1 (contains Model 2392) on the model from Tutorial 3 (Model 2354)?
I wanted to collect inverse kinematics and dynamics data from the normal and crouch gaits in Tutorial 1, but Tutorial 3 is the only model that is set up for inverse kinematics and dynamics.
If it's not possible, how would I go about setting up Model 2392 to collect inverse kinematics and dynamics data from the normal gait and crouch gait motion files?
