Static optimization and Muscle analysis for tendon length

Post by Rahid Zaman » Mon Mar 29, 2021 9:39 pm

Hello,
I want to find the change of tendon length due to the generated force/activation in Static optimization. As Static optimization consider tendon as a rigid body and does not consider the passive elastic element of the muscle, it is not possible to get it directly.

If I run the Static Optimization and Muscle analysis from Analyze tool together, will the generated tendon lengths from Muscle analysis represent the tendon length due to the force/activation generated from Static optimization?

Thanks in advance.

I think in this case Analyze tool will not account for any tendon stretch. You can test if this is the case by checking if the tendon length output has the same number for all time points.

You may want to consider using CMC instead if you want to study tendon length, with passive muscle forces.
