Is it possible to simulate muscle growth, loss and similar adaptation with OpenSim or other SimTK project?
I am hoping to do a (1) biological/biochemical simulation of muscle growth (and loss etc.) with exercise factors, and molecular factors as inputs, and (2) biomechanical simulation that shows how such muscle growth will look overall (similar to http://web.engr.oregonstate.edu/~mjb/cs ... ilding.pdf). Is either of this possible with OpenSim or any SimTK project?

The "Muscle Model Theory and Publications" section of the User's Guide (https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu/d ... blications) describes how the muscle models work. If the muscles don't do what you need, you can extend them; here's an example of including fatigue: https://simtk-confluence.stanford.edu/d ... ble+Muscle. The OpenSim GUI does not currently support setting the diameter of muscles based on the maximum force they can produce, though you might be able to do this in the API visualizer.
