Bone cutting in OpenSim

Post by Muhammad Sohail » Tue Sep 14, 2021 6:18 pm

Hi,
Is it possible to cut the bone at certain angle in OpenSim, I want to make an animation to show the bone preparation for knee arthroplasty.

Thanks

To create an animation where two parts of a bone are separating, you would need to split the bone geometry into two pieces (using some other software), add faces at the "cut" surfaces, and use these in the OpenSim model. To animate the parts of bone separating, you could add a prismatic joint at the "cut" surface.
