OpenSim Workflow to convert joint Animations into muscle excitations

Post by Michel Habib » Tue Sep 28, 2021 6:48 pm

Hello, I am experimenting with a possible OpenSim/Machine Learning workflow (I am aware of OSIM-RL). I have been going back and forth in webinars, documentation and playing with OpenSim for a short while. However, I thought it might be better to reach out to the community.
Is there any webinar/material to help me get familiar with a workflow that helps me in a straight forward way (or systematic way) to convert Humanoid Animations (not necessarily in Clinical prepared Mocap Data with Force Plates/Markers) into Muscle excitations that would drive one of the common osim models - to match the original animations?

OpenSim popular inverse workflows are geared towards clinical workflows that work with patients to get accurate Mocap Data using markers, force plates, scaling to match markers to standard models. My use case is much simpler, in my "simple opensim mind", so any pointers are very much appreciated :)

Forgive my naive perspective and still-young mind in the OpenSim world.
