How to achieve hand grasp simulation

Post by Houcheng Li » Fri Nov 26, 2021 12:31 am

Recently, I am working on establishing a hand musculoskeletal model in OpenSim for grasping simulation. I have collected the grasp motion data by the motion capture system. But I don't have the grasp force data, because I only have flexible force sensors that only get the magnitude of the force, not the direction of the force. I have added the contact mesh on the hand model and the object model as you can see in the attached file. I have two questions
1. Is there a good force sensor that can measure the grip force? (including amplitude and direction)
2. If there is no actual grip force data, can I simulate the grip force in OpenSim software? (such as in Forward Dynamic Tool)
Any advice will help, thanks in advance.
