Obtaining muscle and joint forces for static poses

Post by Kamal Gautam » Sat May 20, 2023 3:24 pm

Hi,
I am currently working on Cross Body Abduction (CBA) and Hand Behind the Back (HBB) Test. I have a set of rotation associated with Glenohumeral, Wrist and Elbow joint that will lead me to the final pose for CBA and HBB from anatomical position of the shoulder complex.
I want to calculate the muscle forces at the anatomical and final resting poses of CBA and HBB. Can I use one of the upper extremity model from OpenSim to calcualte those forces without the need for motion capture data (experimentally). Since, this is generic study not a person specific. Do I still need motion capture data for those moments?

Thank You
