Is it possible to model a string force?

Hello,
I'm creating my own model for a simple robotic finger with 3 hinge joints:

I'd like to add a string, attached at the uppermost point, that follows a path down the finger, to simulate how a real world model would perform.

In the picture above, the green line would represent the line of action of the string, the cross represents the attachment point, the circles represent simple hoops or pulleys that the string passes over, and the arrow represents the point where the force is applied.

Thank you for any help,
Davide
