Muscle force without GRF

Post by Michael Miller » Sat Dec 23, 2023 5:51 am

Hi,

I am an Automotive Engineering student who is relatively new to OpenSim, If GRF data is not provided in Static Optimization, is it still possible to obtain accurate muscle force? If achievable, what methods can be used?

Thank you so much for your efforts!
Michael

For static optimization to provide good results, external forces should all be accounted for (or there should be extra residual forces needed to model those forces).

The Overview of OpenSim Workflows page on the documentation site could be a good place to start to learn more about different workflows for your problem.
