Missing Models Folder

Post by Chelsea Haddy » Thu Jan 09, 2025 4:28 pm

Hello,

I downloaded the OpenSim 4.5 for Windows version. When I first tried downloading, it asked where I wanted to store the models and scripts files, and I accidentally clicked out of this and did not put them in a download folder. I uninstalled OpenSims and redownloaded it but the second time I downloaded it, it did not give me an option of where I wanted to download those folders to. Is there any ways that I can download the models folder or find it? If I try to reinstall OpenSims again, is there a way for this to appear as an option?
The following is the instructions from tutorial 1, but I cannot figure out to how access these files now.

"Find the Models folder, which is located in your Documents folder e.g., Documents\OpenSim\4.0 for a PC or, e.g., Documents/OpenSim/4.0 for a Mac.
Note: When you first launch OpenSim, the default to install models and scripts files is your Documents folders (you do have the choice to change the folder where you want to install these files). There are several different example models and motions in the Models folder. All of the model and motion files used in the remainder of the tutorial will be located in this Models folder."

Thank you for your help.

You can type "installResources()" at the prompt in the ScriptingShell window. If the ScriptingShell window is not already displayed, please see the instructions and images here: https://opensimconfluence.atlassian.net ... in+the+GUI.
