Hello, I know this is off topic, but was wondering if there is anybody out there who can help me set up OpenSIM? I keep hitting roadblocks and I can't find the answers to my questions online, I figure if somebody has done it enough times they could probably help me troubleshoot the issue. A 10 year veteran of Second Life, I am so excited to be able to design again and not break my bank - but I am so stuck with the installation.
I am pretty sure that I just need a standalone with hyperlink. I can't seem to find any benefit a grid would do for me other than allow me to do more of the same thing? My goal is to create but I want to be able to visit other worlds to purchase items to bring back to my region and allow people to visit me if they want to see my world. I know there is still so much to learn with regards to inventory but I want to make sure that I set myself up properly at the beginning so that I can export scenes to different grids.
I got the standalone working properly which was amazing, but I got stuck with the hyperlink feature. After making the changes in the .ini files it still didn't work for me and all roads led to port forwarding. I am able to log into my modem and access the port forwarding but I must be doing something wrong as none of my changes worked.
The settings are shown in my attachment, I am able to pick TCP/UDP and then change the WAN port and LAN port to 8001-8002, 8003-8005 (how would you put this in, or do one at a time? I get stuck with the Source IP and Destination IP, when I put them in it won't allow me to, says they are not on the same network. For Source IP I used my IPv4 address that I got from ipconfig and for Destination IP I used my External IP I got from a website, I also flipped them and it didn't work.
I know this is such a beginner question in this super interesting forum! If anybody can spare the time to help me I will be so grateful. Or at least to guide me in a direction.
Thank you!
Juliett

Re: OpenSIM Tutor
This forum is for OpenSim (https://opensim.stanford.edu/). I think you're looking for OpenSimulator (http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Main_Page); it looks like they have a support page here: http://opensimulator.org/wiki/Support.
