Hi Priyanshu,

The API distribution for linux was built on CentOS with gcc 4.1 (same as the SimTK libraries in 2.1 distribution I believe). Since the release of SimTK 2.1 (we include these libraries with OpenSim), some problems were found compiling/using the libraries on Ubuntu with gcc 4.4. These problems have been fixed and will be in the next release and an OpenSim build using gcc 4.4 (which is the default on Ubuntu now) will be provided. In the meantime, if you really need to use OpenSim on an Ubuntu machine, I'd suggest using gcc (4.3 or earlier).

Hope this helps,
-Ayman
