Difference between output of IK and the final output

Post by Mª del Mar Rodríguez Azor » Sun Jan 27, 2013 12:20 pm

Hello,

I don't know the difference between the output (motion file) that you specify in the file of Setup_IK.xml and the motion output resulting when after doing the inverse kinematics and seeing the movement, you want to close the OpenSim and the programme tell you if you want to save the result. In my case I have the files 26BodyModel_walking_arms_ik.mot and 26BodyModel_walking_ik.mot, respectively. The second file is bigger than the first one.

I hope my question is clear, I don't know how to explain it.

Thank you.

Regards,

Mª del Mar

Hi,

When a motion is loaded in the GUI (including output from various tools) it's finely resampled/interpolated for faster interaction with the motion slider. This would explain the difference. Although benign, if you have both files, you should stick with the file specified in the tool setup file as it has the exact set of frames solved by the IK tool.

Hope this helps,
