spheres and meshes

Hi all,
I am trying to make the lumbar spine interact by means of spheres with a mesh cylinder section using ElasticFoundationForce. I have tried it in two ways but I have not achieved values of forces between the two elements, the spheres simply pass through the cylinder. The first attempt was to place predefined spheres (ContactSphere) and the second attempt was to make spheres * obj in mesh. Should the meshes have any particular feature or density? Is it correct to combine predefined spheres with meshes?
On the other hand, I could not find the command for the predefined ellipsoids as contact geometry to do some tests with HuntCrossleyForce.
